Do I really need a website? used in blog for New Sky Websites in Oconomowoc, WI

Why Do You Need a Website?

“Why do you need a website?” I talk to small business owners every day and I am still a little caught off guard when they wonder if they really need a website… Of course I’m biased, but mind-blowing stats are also on my side…

Here are just a few:

  • 87% of U.S. adults use the internet (January 2014 Internet User Demographics)

  • 78% of Internet users conduct product research online. That means your website stands a good chance of being a prospect’s “first impression.” That also means your new business card isn’t a business card—it’s Google. (Hubspot)

  • 88% of consumers who search for a type of local business on a mobile device call or go to that business within 24 hours. (Google Mobile Movement Study)

  • By 2016, more than half of the dollars spent in US retail will be influenced by the web. (Forrester Research)

  • 48% of people cited a website’s design as the number one factor in deciding the credibility of a business (Ironpaper)

 Still not convinced?

 Think about this:

A professional website never sleeps, never closes and it provides an outstanding first impression for your business when done right.

And even if you are a small organization or one-person show, you can have a sharp, updated site that is responsive to mobile devices for surprisingly little money and a very small time investment.

What else can a website do for you?

  • Reach new potential customers you didn’t even know existed.

  • Add income potential by selling online.

  • Serve as a centralized hub for all your marketing efforts.

  • Showcase your products and services with your branding rather than sharing the spotlight with competitors on a shared site.

  • Engage your customers with valuable information so they see you as an industry leader and valuable resource (61% of U.S. online consumers have made a purchase based on recommendations from a blog. (Blogher)

  • Reduce your print and traditional marketing costs (direct them to your site instead!)
